Portland 2011

I really did not do it on purpose but I so how planned both of my big trips for the fall in the same month. It actually made it a lot of fun! This trip I went to Portland with Sarah to visit Patrick and Alyssa. It was a fun filled weekend and we did lots of different things! I am so glad that Sarah could come with me. Even though she will probably will not fly with me again for awhile. I keep getting to the airport to close for comfort for her before our plan leaves. But we did make all our flights!

Friday morning we went hiking while Patrick was at school. The weather was perfect and the hike was beautiful.

Sarah being her silly self:) She makes me laugh!

These signs became the joke of the hike

Saturday morning we went to the Tillamook Cheese factory. We ate a lot of cheese and ice cream!

We then went to the coast it was windy, cold and raining but it was fun!

Sarah, wanted a picture on the beach:)

We then went the Rose Garden on Sunday afternoon. There were some lovely roses

Thanks Patrick and Alyssa we had a great time!

Labor Day Weekend

It has been really HOT this summer and all I wanted to do for Labor Day weekend was get out of Phoenix. I did care where just not in the valley of the sun. So we had a girls weekend in Sedona it was great! Cool weather and beautiful scenery. The trip included Olivia, Chelsa, Bryn, Maria Elena and I.

We relax, swam, eat great food. Did a jeep tour and went hiking. We even tried to see celebrities homes, but our crazy gate codes did not work. That is a story in its self, and if you were want to know more well, you are not going to find out.

Beautiful sunset

Pondering life....

Grandma Lyman

January 26th 2011 was a bitter sweet day. It was the day that Grandma Lyman left this earth life. Bitter, because it is hard to see a loved one pass away and leave you behind. Sweet, in that she lived a VERY full life. She was 95 year old, her body had been weak, but yet her mind so very sharp to the end. I have wonderful memories of my grandma and will cherish them the rest of my life. I think of the greatest blessings that has come to my family is the time that she lived with us for 2 years while Aunt Joyce and Uncle Milton were on their mission. She brought a wonderful spirit into our home and was a joy to have around. It was a hard day for me to see her leave and go back to California, but I knew that is where she wanted to be. The oldest grandson from each of her children were the poll bearers.

Her funeral was a wonderful experience. Out of 40 grandchildren only 3 were unable to attend. It was wonderful to see everyone and spend time all together! As grandma would always put it, "stay sweet, I love you". My whole family including the newest member Alyssa! Mom's two favorite people Cannon and Belle, but I get the feeling Belle is a little jealous in this picture

We went hiking on saturday, it was freezing outside, but you cant go to Esclante and not spend time in the outdoors! Plus that is what grandma would want us to do.

We could have a used car lot at our house and this is not all of them either.
