Thinking about life, but not worrying about life

Okay, I have to admit that one of my favorite TV shows to watch is extreme makeovers home edition. Its one of those feel good shows. Well, last night I was watching it on TV.The home that they did was for this family who had lost their dad to cancer. It had all the key elements, nice family, tragic story, finish product a beautiful home. What made this show different is the motto that the father lived by. I have been thinking about it all day. Something that everyone can live by and I think find a lot more happiness in this crazy world that we live in. So if you are ever feeling down just think:
"There is a lot to think about, but nothing to worry about"
So here is to thinking about life but not worrying about life!

Trips and Tests
So, I have kind have been awaiting to post because not much has been going on. However, I now have two very exciting things to post about. First, I went to Manti, Utah a couple of weeks ago to witness the sealing of some really good friends in the Manti temple. An LDS sealing is where two people are married for time and all eternity. It was a wonderful experience to be there with them, I don't think there was a dry eye in the room. The weather was beautiful and the drive was a relaxing change from work. I am so glad that I was able to go.
The second exciting event was that I took my second certification test and passed!!!! At work I am required to take three certification test. They each take anywhere from 2 to 5 hours to take. If anyone knows me well they know that I do not like test at all. Never have, never will. I think that they do not show any ones abilities at all. If you really want to know what someone capabilities are then have them show you in a practical that they will do on a daily bases. I am just grateful that two of them are done and I have one left.
Life is wonderful here in Phoenix AZ, hopefully more exciting and fun adventures will come to pass this summer!!! Tell then family and friends!

Hair Cuts
So, I have been going gray since I was 17 years!!! And its getting worse. I promise its true people. Got to love those family genes right?! The problem is I have very dark brown/ black hair needless to say gray sticks out like a sore thumb. Every three months or so, I go get a cut and color. I always have one idea in mind when I go and walk out with another. Short, long, medium, layered. Black, blond, red or light brown or purple.....(just kidding) I don't think I could get away with that one in the temple. Anyhow today is another one of those days. Do I go really short? Grow it out? Layered, one length just thinned out. Did I mention that it is really thick as well! I would like something easy because I have girls camp coming up and need something that I can get away with washing and going. Not having to drag along the product, dryer and straightener would be nice. I enjoy getting my hair done, its relaxing and regardless of what it ends up looking like, I normally walk out feeling like a million bucks! So, my friends and family you are just going to have to wait and see.... What will KT look like the next time you see her? I am sure Lauren will work her magic like she always does. Keep posted for pictures

My Job

Many people ask what I do for a career. Sometimes they try to guess before I tell them. I get everything from school teacher, accountant, to counselor. I then say I work in Facility Management. They normally have a very puzzled look on their face. I proceed to tell them that I work for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the Facility Management Department. We maintain the church buildings in the Gilbert, Queen Creek Arizona area. We have 9 stakes, 3 seminaries. As well as 4 buildings and 1 seminary that is under construction or design phase. Everyday there is something new to solve. The next question I get is how I got involved with facilities management. About three years ago I started looking for a new job, I was hired as an office assistant for the Mesa FM Group. I would pay the bills, answer the phone, do work orders and anything else that needed to be done. Then almost a year ago I finished my masters and received a promotion as an Assistant Facility Manager in the Gilbert FM Group. I love the people that I work with they are my extended family here in Phoenix. I now do more project base work and serve the priesthood leadership of the church. I love my job, I truly feel like I'm doing my part in building up the kingdom of God. I have to admit that out of all the jobs which I have had this is the one that I enjoy the most and find the most fulfilment in. Yes, some days are busy and stressful but I always walk away at the end of the day feeling that I had a difference in this world that we live in. And that feeling bring me a large amount of peace, joy and happiness.

Grandma Sitting
My grandma is 93 years old! That's right 93 pretty amazing if you ask me and she is one of the most beautiful people that I know. My family is blessed to have her live with our parents. She brings many blessing into our lives. On occasion I have the opportunity to go down to Tucson and stay with her when my parents are out of town. We talk, go on walks and eat chocolate most of the time. She has accomplished many great things in her life. One being raising my wonderful mother. I truly look forward to and cherish the weekends that I get to send with her. Grandma Lyman I love you and so grateful to have you in my life!
